Halberstadt Cathedral and Treasury

With over 600 pieces, the Halberstadt Cathedral Treasure is the most extensive medieval church treasure that has been preserved in its authentic location. The cathedral itself is one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in Germany.

In over 200 years of construction, the Halberstadt cathedral was built as one of the very few that was consistently designed in the style of the models from France, where the Gothic originated. The central nave spans 27 meters above the heads, over 290 stained glass decorate the windows and shine in bright colors when the sun falls. Hence the Gothic is also known as the architecture of light.
